Hottest year on record for Australia in 2013

Officials from the Bureau of Meteorology have said that 2013 was the hottest year on record in Australia with temperatures up 1.2C on average.

It’s the hottest since 1910, when records began, and 2013 saw a record warm winter which produced the most devastating fires since 1968 in Sydney. Adelaide voted the best city to visit in 2014

For once Melbourne and Sydney aren’t topping the charts! Adelaide has been voted as one of the top cities to visit in 2014 in a global poll conducted by Lonely Planet.

Adelaide was voted the 10th best city to visit in 2014 due to its quiet beaches, and emerging wine and arts scene. Paris, France topped the list, but there were some other unexpected contenders in the top 10 too, including Riga in Latvia and Trinidad in Cuba.
