Best Places to Drink in Perth

Situated on the oft-forgotten about west coast of Australia, Perth is becoming more popular because of its exciting cultural scene and diverse population. As such a number of exciting bars and pubs have opened up in the city, and now there are hundreds of unique little drinking establishments dotted through the city’s winding lanes.

Whether you want a refreshing cocktail, a small-batch beer or some tasty local wine, Perth has the right thing for you.

Stables Bar, 888 Hay Street, Perth

Once the site of a horse and hay business, the Stables still retains many of its original features including limestone walls, wood panelling and a cobblestone courtyard.

Spread across two levels, the upper floor boasts unrivalled views over the city, and competition for a seat can be tough on a clear day. Go here for the fabulous wine, and locally-sourced menu, where everything is homemade: even the condiments.

The Bird, 181 William Street Northbridge

A relative newcomer to the scene, and situated 5 minutes from the city centre, The Bird is a great place to grab a few beers if you want to check out the local music scene. Something is always happening here, whether it’s a touring band, open mic night or one of the regular musicians putting on a show.

Get cozy in the beer garden with a local brew, or try one of the many unique bottled ales that they have hidden behind the bar.

Hula Bula Bar, 12 Victoria Avenue, Perth

A fun spot situated just off Hay Street, this tiki-themed bar serves a mean cocktail. Go for the kitsch, and especially go for the rum, which is top shelf premium stuff. It may feel a little cheesy, but if you’re after a good cocktail, look no further.
