If you’re sports-mad and want to visit Australia, you’ll be spoilt for choice as it’s a nation which loves getting physical. There are loads of sports to enjoy if you’re visiting and some cities are better than others when it comes to certain types of sport. If you’re a keen sportsperson and are interested in visiting Australia to compete in a sporting event, consider getting an Australian sports visa, which will let you enter the country to do just that.
Football
Australia has its own football league and by far the best city to go is Sydney, which has its own stadium in Moore Park. Several football clubs which are in the A-League are based near Sydney including Newcastle, Central Coast, Western Sydney and of course Sydney itself.
If you’re keen on learning more about Aussie Rules football, then you should head to Melbourne, where the sport was founded in 1859.
Winter sports
You may not think of Australia as having any snow, but it does and there are plenty of winter sports venues to enjoy skiing and snowboarding. Perisher in New South Wales is the largest ski resort in the southern hemisphere and offers snow sports to rival the Alps.
Golf
Some of the most amazing golf courses in the world can be found in Australia and there are loads dotted all over the country. Some of the best courses can be found in Queensland dotted along the Gold Coast, where you can play a round whilst overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The RACV Royal Pines Resort is also located here, which is where part of the PGA Australia tour takes place.
